• When AirShare connected to a HomePod on software 27 right after the computer started, music could stay silent until you reconnected. Audio now plays without reconnecting, even if the computer is briefly busy while streaming.

• HomePods running HomePod software 27 connected but stayed silent. AirShare now streams to them over AirPlay 2 and follows the HomePod's own playback clock, so audio plays again.
• Streaming system audio to a HomePod on software 27 no longer stays silent when the audio device takes a moment to start.

• A receiver that stops responding is now detected instead of leaving the session hanging — AirPlay requests and keepalives have deadlines, so a stalled connection closes and reconnects cleanly.

• Changing a setting no longer risks overwriting an unrelated setting that changed at the same time in another window. Preferences are also written atomically now, so an interrupted save cannot leave the file half-written.
